It is on this stretch of the Catalan coastline, where a littoral with wide sandy beaches ends; that the coast christened the Costa Brava by the poet Ferran Agulló in 1908, commences. Small sandy coves and smooth round pebbles are interspersed between steep cliffs and pine forests which seem to want to dive into the water. One of the first coves is the beach of Santa Cristina: crystal blue waters with a hint of turquoise which sparkle in the sun whatever the season, and brilliant white sand dotted with what in years past must have been sharp rocks, but now stand as round boulders. These are the sea views.
