The Costa Brava is one of the favorite summer destinations. That perfect disconnection corner for any type of trip you want to make. Its turquoise blue coves, the fishing villages, the viewpoints, the gastronomy, the calm and the lifestyle that is breathed... make it the jewel of the Mediterranean. Here you can find a guide to the essential places you must visit if you go to the Costa Brava this summer.
Palamós
It is a town that includes some of the most beautiful coves on the Costa Brava. To the north of Palamós is Cala S'Alguer, a small and rocky cove that shows a landscape made up of sea, mountains and a group of fishermen's houses, very typical of there. In addition, it can be reached through the Camí de Ronda, perfect for contemplating views that are well worth it.
Another example of this is Cala Estreta, where, to access it, you have to arrive after walking about 20 minutes from Es Castell Beach. With a crescent shape and just over 100 meters long, it is one of the quietest corners that can be found in the area.
Tossa de Mar
Tossa de Mar, the closest municipality to Santa Marta, stands out mainly for its medieval wall, although its coves and beaches with crystal clear water are also part of its charm. Likewise, Vila Vella, the historic center of the town, is one of the essential places to visit, this being the only example of a fortified medieval population on the Catalan coast, which is 70 meters high.
As for beaches, Cala Futadera is another essential. However, to enjoy the sun on the beach, it is recommended to get up early since, being between cliffs, during the afternoon it gives you complete shade. In addition, on both sides are Cala Giverola and Cala Spiratiu, two more options if you are looking to bathe and sunbathe.
Calella de Palafrugell
With its narrow streets, its traditional houses, the colorful boats and an environment surrounded by pine trees and cliffs, Calella de Palafrugell looks like a postcard.
This fishing village that, to this day, continues to maintain the genuine charm that was breathed before the arrival of tourism, has eight coves and beaches, all linked by the Camí de Ronda. With golden sand, stones, for swimming or for watching the sunset... all of them offer a perfect photograph of the Mediterranean. Among which are El Canadell, a small family beach, Port Bo, the main beach where the famous Habaneras de Calella cantada is held, and El Golfet cove, the most beautiful in Calella de Palafrugell for many.
Our recommendation for eating is the La Blava restaurant, an intimate space where you can savor the fresh produce of the area, with privileged views of the sea. The essence of the Mediterranean diet is found here, with an offer based on vegetables, rice, fish and olive oil, worked in a creative way.
Llafranch
Also following the Camí de Ronda you reach Llafranch, a small town located in the heart of the Costa Brava, which belongs to the municipality of Palafrugell. The bay of Llafranch, its promenade, the port and the cape of San Sebastián, make it one of the most beautiful towns to walk around. It is perfect for families and couples looking for a quiet and very pleasant place.
If you are looking for a restaurant, our best recommendation is to go to Far Nomo, a Japanese restaurant located right next to the Sant Sebastià lighthouse, 170 meters above the sea. The menu offers a fusion of traditional Japanese and Mediterranean cuisine, with the highest quality and the style of the Nomo Group. Good cuisine, good atmosphere and beautiful panoramic views.
Begur
It is one of the most charming towns on the Costa Brava. From strolling through the old town, or through its houses with colored doors, to its coves and beaches... all this will make you fall in love with it. The most beautiful beaches that you should visit are Aiguablava, Fornells and Sa Tuna.
